Worlds

Worlds are individual inhabited locations existing throughout the greater cosmological structure of I Reincarnated as a Goblin.

César's world is only one among many.

Other worlds possess their own civilizations, histories, technologies, supernatural conditions, and forms of life. Some can resemble one another, while others developed in radically different directions.

Overview

The setting extends far beyond a single inhabited world or even a single universe.

Multiple worlds exist, and multiple universes also exist.

Some worlds are separated only by enormous distances within the same universe.

Others belong to entirely separate universes.

Because of this, the term another world does not automatically mean another universe.

Worlds and Universes

A world represents an individual inhabited location.

A universe exists on a much greater cosmological scale and can contain many worlds.

This creates two fundamentally different forms of displacement:

• Travel between worlds within the same universe.
• Travel from one universe to another.

Alex belongs to the first category.

César, Lucius, and Nilo belong to the second.

Worlds and Dimensions

Worlds and universes must also be distinguished from dimensions.

A distant world may exist somewhere else within the same universe.

An entirely separate universe represents another complete cosmological structure.

A different dimension represents yet another category.

The Devils, for example, originate from another dimension rather than simply from a distant world or another ordinary universe.

Another Continent ≠ Another World ≠ Another Universe ≠ Another Dimension

Continents Are Not Separate Worlds

The eight known continents associated with César all belong to the same world.

Their ancient inhabitants did not originally know this.

The enormous barriers surrounding the continents were believed to mark the end of the world.

As a result, crossing one of those barriers was interpreted as traveling into another world.

The Barrier-Crossing Artifacts therefore acquired a historical meaning based partly on an ancient misunderstanding.

Their known function was intercontinental travel, not true travel between separate worlds or universes.

César's Current World

The principal world of I Reincarnated as a Goblin is the world in which César begins his new life as a Goblin.

Eight major continents are currently known:

• Halvmen
• Muxuu
• Lamtx
• Furex
• Humel
• Sacred Continent
• Demonic Continent
• Disc

These continents possess dramatically different populations, Mana conditions, histories, and environments.

The complete cosmological origin of this world remains unknown.

Other Worlds

César's current world is not unique in possessing intelligent life.

Other inhabited worlds exist across the greater cosmological structure.

Some developed civilizations resembling versions of Earth.

Others contain species and societies that differ dramatically from ordinary humanity.

Some worlds can also resemble one another despite being physically and cosmologically distinct.

Similarity therefore does not prove that two locations are alternate timelines of the same world.

Physical Travel Between Worlds

Travel between separate worlds within the same universe can be physically possible.

However, possibility does not imply practicality.

The distances separating worlds can be so enormous that even civilizations capable of interstellar travel may remain effectively isolated.

A sufficiently advanced civilization could theoretically cross those distances, but existing technology may still make such a journey nearly impossible.

Inter-Universal Travel

Travel between universes is fundamentally different from traveling between worlds inside the same universe.

Such movement cannot be explained merely through conventional physical distance.

César, Lucius, and Nilo all originated from universes different from the one in which Alex was born.

Their presence in the principal universe therefore required intervention beyond ordinary interstellar travel.

Alex's Earth

Alex, the Original Protagonist, was born as an ordinary Human on an advanced version of Earth.

Mana still existed there, but only in extremely small quantities compared with its ancient presence.

Pollution, scientific development, and technological expansion had reduced Mana to little more than a remnant of what it had once been.

Humanity instead developed an extraordinarily advanced technological civilization.

Humanity of Alex's Earth

Human civilization had expanded beyond Earth and possessed interstellar fleets.

Humanity was capable of traveling between worlds and possessed weapons powerful enough to threaten or destroy entire planets.

Their expansion eventually brought them into major conflicts with other intelligent species.

The Zerg

One of the greatest enemies encountered by Alex's civilization was the Zerg.

The Zerg were an aggressively expanding species capable of consuming and colonizing worlds.

Humanity and the Zerg initially maintained an unstable peace based largely on fear, convenience, and mutual danger.

Human expansion into Zerg-controlled territories eventually contributed to the beginning of a devastating war.

Other Life in Alex's Galaxy

The Zerg were not the only non-Human intelligent beings known to Alex's civilization.

Another humanoid species existed whose appearance could remind Humans of the Elves found in ancient legends.

Members of this species could stand nearly three meters tall and possessed purple skin.

Their civilization was eventually destroyed during Human expansion.

Alex's Death

Alex eventually became involved directly in the war against the Zerg.

He died during that conflict.

Death, however, did not mark the end of his existence.

Alex later awakened in another world filled with extraordinarily dense Mana.

He also discovered a mysterious ring and a presence identifying itself as Titan.

Alex Remained in His Native Universe

Alex's transition is particularly important for understanding the cosmology.

Although he moved from his original Earth to another world, he remained within his native universe.

His case therefore demonstrates that:

Reincarnation in Another World ≠ Reincarnation in Another Universe

Alex is native to the same universe in which his second world exists.

Alex as the Original Protagonist

Alex is known as the Original Protagonist.

This title does not mean that Alex was originally a fictional character.

He was a real person living within a real universe.

His future contained events that would eventually draw the attention of powerful beings from beyond his own world.

Alex was destined to become exceptionally powerful, making the opportunities, relationships, and events surrounding his future extremely valuable.

The Future That Became a Story

Powerful Gods were capable of observing glimpses of future events associated with Alex.

Those glimpses could then be transformed into information presented in the form of a novel.

People living in other universes could therefore read what appeared to be a fictional story about Alex.

The story was not the origin of Alex's world.

Instead, the real world and its future came first.

The novel came afterward.

Reality Before Fiction

The relationship can therefore be summarized as:

Real Person → Real Future → Divine Observation → Novel

rather than:

Novel → Fictional World Becomes Real

This distinction is essential for understanding Lucius and Nilo.

Lucius's Universe

Lucius originated from an entirely different universe.

His Earth initially appeared comparatively ordinary.

However, his universe had already fallen under the influence and domination of the Outer Gods.

The people living on Earth did not initially understand the greater cosmological forces surrounding their world.

The Portal Catastrophe

Mysterious portals eventually began appearing across Lucius's Earth.

Monsters emerged from those openings and Human civilization rapidly began to collapse.

These events were not simply a random supernatural apocalypse.

They were connected to the influence of the Outer Gods over Lucius's universe.

Awakened Humans

During the catastrophe, some Humans began awakening supernatural powers.

These included psychic, mental, elemental, physical, and other unusual abilities.

Lucius awakened a psychic ability that allowed him to enter and manipulate the minds of certain creatures when their mental strength was inferior to his own.

Lucius and the Novel

Before his death, Lucius had read a novel describing the life of Alex.

To Lucius, Alex was simply the protagonist of a fictional story.

After dying and awakening in Alex's universe, Lucius naturally concluded that he had entered the novel he once read.

That conclusion was incomplete.

Lucius Entered Another Universe

Alex's world existed independently of the novel.

Lucius had been given information derived from glimpses of events belonging to a real future.

He was then transported from his own universe into Alex's universe.

His apparent knowledge of the "plot" was therefore knowledge derived from the future of another real universe.

Lucius's Psychic Power

Lucius did not receive his original psychic ability after arriving in Alex's universe.

The ability originated during his previous life.

It followed him when he crossed universes.

Nilo's Universe

Nilo also originated from an entirely different universe.

Like Lucius's universe, Nilo's universe had already fallen under the domination and influence of the Outer Gods.

The Zombie Catastrophe

Nilo's Earth collapsed after the emergence of a catastrophic infection associated with creatures resembling zombies.

These beings were far more dangerous than the conventional zombies of Human fiction.

They could become stronger by consuming Humans or one another and continued evolving as the catastrophe progressed.

This disaster was not merely an isolated biological accident.

It was connected to the influence of the Outer Gods over Nilo's universe.

Nilo and the Novel

Nilo also encountered the story concerning Alex before his death.

When he later awakened inside Alex's universe, he discovered that he occupied the position of a villain from the story he remembered.

From his perspective, he had reincarnated inside a novel as a villain.

Like Lucius, he did not initially understand the true cosmological situation.

Nilo's System

Nilo possesses a supernatural System.

The System allows him to obtain points by killing enemies and use those points to increase his capabilities.

He can also learn techniques after observing them.

Further mastery requires either actual practice or the expenditure of points.

The existence of this System does not demonstrate that Systems are a natural feature of reality.

Nilo's System was deliberately created through divine intervention.

Outer God-Controlled Universes

Lucius and Nilo provide direct examples of universes that have already come under the control of the Outer Gods.

The exact manifestation of that control does not have to be identical in every universe.

In Lucius's case, the result included portals, monsters, and the awakening of supernatural Human abilities.

In Nilo's case, the result included an evolving zombie catastrophe.

These differences demonstrate that Outer God influence can reshape worlds and civilizations in different ways.

César's Original Universe

César also originated from another universe.

His case, however, differs fundamentally from those of Lucius and Nilo.

His reincarnation was not arranged by the same Gods responsible for the manipulation surrounding the other transported individuals.

Instead, an ancient existence connected to the deepest history of the Deviants was responsible for sending him into his new life.

César was not that being's true chosen individual.

His reincarnation was instead granted as an unusual secondary opportunity.

The complete circumstances surrounding this event remain one of the deepest secrets of the setting.

Different Cosmological Origins

Different Earths

Alex, César, Lucius, and Nilo did not necessarily originate from the same Earth or even from the same universe.

The existence of multiple Earth-like worlds across different universes is therefore possible within the setting.

Knowledge as a Weapon

The information possessed by Lucius and Nilo gives them an enormous advantage.

They know people, events, opportunities, and developments associated with the future that Alex was originally expected to experience.

This makes future knowledge more than simple information.

It can be used to interfere with the path of the Original Protagonist, seize opportunities that would otherwise belong to him, and alter relationships and events before they naturally occur.

The Original Protagonist Problem

Alex's future was valuable precisely because he was expected to become extraordinarily powerful.

Individuals entering his universe with advance knowledge can therefore attempt to replace, redirect, or steal opportunities associated with his original path.

Their arrival creates deviations from the future that had previously been observed.

As those deviations accumulate, the usefulness of the original future information can gradually decrease.

The Role of the Outer Gods

The Outer Gods are ancient beings associated with the conquest and domination of other universes.

They have expanded their influence across many universes and can use the resources and opportunities of conquered regions to increase their own power.

Lucius's and Nilo's original universes provide known examples of universes already affected by that domination.

Their influence can radically alter the worlds within those universes.

Outer Gods and the Main Universe

The principal universe containing Alex is especially unusual.

It naturally produced extraordinarily powerful existences, including the Deviants.

This made it fundamentally different from many universes that the Outer Gods had previously conquered or exploited.

The full consequences of this difference belong to deeper cosmological history.

Natural and Artificial Worlds

Worlds can also differ according to their origin.

Ancient Natural Worlds once existed throughout the cosmos.

Many later inhabited worlds were instead deliberately created by Gods and can be classified as Artificial Worlds.

An Artificial World is not an illusion.

Its inhabitants, civilizations, history, and physical existence are real.

The distinction concerns how the world originated.

Unknown Classification of Known Earths

The exact classification of every known Earth has not yet been established.

It should therefore not automatically be assumed that Alex's Earth, César's Earth, Lucius's Earth, or Nilo's Earth was either Natural or Artificial unless their origins are specifically revealed.

World-Creating Gods

Some Gods possess the ability to create worlds and establish life within them.

These Gods should not automatically be confused with the Outer Gods.

The Outer Gods belong to a separate cosmological history involving conquest, domination, expansion, and the ancient Outer Gods Crisis.
