Disc

Disc is one of the eight known continents of the world.

It is primarily associated with the descendants of the Half-Elves who migrated there from Muxuu, as well as an ancient unnamed intelligent race possessing prehistoric animal lineages.

The continent is divided mainly between vast savannas and enormous forests, with its different populations historically developing in distinct regions.

Overview

Disc is a continent divided primarily between two enormous environments: savannas and forests.

Roughly half of its territory consists of wide savanna regions, while the remainder is dominated by immense forests.

These environments are closely connected to the distribution of the continent's prehistoric lineages.

Geography

Forests

Vast forests cover a large portion of Disc.

These regions are primarily associated with prehistoric lineages whose traits resemble ancient reptiles and dinosaurs.

Known examples include lineages resembling creatures such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Spinosaurus, among others.

Savannas

The other major environment of Disc consists of enormous savannas.

These territories are more strongly associated with prehistoric mammalian and megafaunal lineages.

Examples include lineages resembling Mammoths, Saber-Toothed Tigers, and other prehistoric animals.

Half-Elf Settlement

Half-Elves are not native to Disc.

Their ancestors originated on Muxuu through Human and Elf ancestry.

Following the ancient conflicts surrounding Humans, Elves, Giants, Half-Elves, Semi-Giants, and the Barrier-Crossing Artifacts, a major Half-Elf population left Muxuu.

Using one of the artifacts capable of crossing the Divine Barriers, they reached Disc and established themselves there.

Half-Elf populations eventually became concentrated primarily in the central regions of the continent, between the great forest and savanna territories.

Half-Elf Knowledge

Before their migration, Half-Elves had inherited and learned practical knowledge from both Humans and Elves.

This included craftsmanship, toolmaking, and other techniques developed before their departure from Muxuu.

After settling on Disc, they shared some of these tools, methods, and crafts with neighboring populations.

The Unnamed Prehistoric Race

Disc is also home to an ancient intelligent species whose official name has not yet been revealed.

For descriptive purposes, this article refers to them as the Prehistoric Race.

This is not currently established as their official racial name.

The race is divided into different prehistoric lineages associated with creatures that once existed in ancient eras.

Prehistoric Lineages

Different members of the race inherit characteristics connected to different prehistoric animals.

These lineages include both dinosaur-like and ancient mammalian forms.

Extreme Sexual Dimorphism

One of the most unusual characteristics of the Prehistoric Race is its extreme sexual dimorphism.

Males and females of the same species can appear so different that an outside observer may incorrectly assume that they belong to entirely different races.

Males

Males possess strongly pronounced physical characteristics derived from their prehistoric lineage.

Their bodies may appear as powerful humanoid forms inspired by dinosaurs, prehistoric mammals, or other ancient creatures.

A male belonging to a Tyrannosaurus lineage, for example, may possess a heavily dinosaur-like humanoid appearance.

Females

Females possess a dramatically different appearance.

Despite belonging to the same species as the males, they appear almost completely Human.

Their prehistoric ancestry may be reflected through cultural clothing, symbols, or other identifying elements rather than through heavily bestial anatomy.

This extreme difference would later become one of the primary causes of a catastrophic Human misunderstanding.

Relationship with the Half-Elves

Before the later arrival of Humans, the Half-Elves and the Prehistoric Race lived in relative peace.

Their relationship was not defined by constant conquest or extermination.

Half-Elves exchanged tools, craftsmanship, and knowledge with neighboring communities, including techniques originally learned from Humans and Elves before their migration.

The central Half-Elf territories also placed them geographically between many forest and savanna populations.

Human Arrival

In the future timeline known to César, Humans eventually reached Disc by force.

Their arrival completely changed the political and racial structure of the continent.

Half-Elves Under Human Rule

Humans regarded Half-Elves as belonging, at least partially, to their own racial sphere because of their Human ancestry.

Rather than treating them in exactly the same manner as the other native inhabitants of Disc, Humans forcibly incorporated Half-Elves into their expanding society.

They came to be treated as a subordinate Human-related population, effectively regarded as an inferior Human subrace rather than as a fully independent people.

The Human Misunderstanding

The Prehistoric Race presented Humans with a much more extreme problem.

Because of the race's sexual dimorphism, Humans initially failed to recognize that its males and females belonged to the same species.

The powerful, bestial-looking males were interpreted as non-Human creatures.

The Human-looking females, on the other hand, were incorrectly perceived as Humans or as a mysterious Human-like female population.

Existing Human legends further contributed to the confusion, with some interpreting the women through stories similar to those surrounding Amazons.

Extinction of the Prehistoric Race

The Human conquest ultimately destroyed the Prehistoric Race as an independent people.

Male populations were systematically eliminated during the conquest.

Surviving females were forcibly absorbed into Human society and treated as members of the Human population rather than as members of a separate species.

Over subsequent generations, Human Lineage Assimilation gradually caused their descendants to become classified as Humans.

As a result, the original race disappeared as an independent racial and cultural population.

Human Lineage Assimilation

The disappearance of the Prehistoric Race did not mean that all of its characteristics vanished.

Humans possess an unusual capacity to assimilate the lineages of other intelligent races over generations.

After repeated generations of reproduction within Human populations, descendants may once again be classified entirely as Human while still inheriting characteristics or abilities from their non-Human ancestry.

This phenomenon allowed Prehistoric Lineage to survive long after the original race ceased to exist independently.

Prehistoric Lineage Humans

In later generations, some Humans continued to be born carrying traces of the ancient Prehistoric Lineage.

The lineage could correspond to different prehistoric creatures, depending on the ancestry inherited by the individual.

• Other prehistoric lineages

The Female Racial Ability

Females of the original Prehistoric Race possessed an exclusive Racial Ability related to their prehistoric lineage.

The official name of this ability has not yet been revealed.

It allowed them to manifest the prehistoric creature associated with their lineage around themselves.

The manifested creature possessed a peculiar existence that could appear intangible while still producing tangible effects.

Through this manifestation, the user gained abilities and physical power associated with the corresponding prehistoric creature.

Examples of Manifestation

The exact manifestation depended on the user's lineage.

Survival of the Ability

Although the original race became extinct, its Racial Ability did not completely disappear.

Through Human Lineage Assimilation, traces of the ability survived within later Human descendants.

Certain Humans carrying Prehistoric Lineage eventually became capable of awakening a power strongly resembling the original female Racial Ability.

Future Human Profession

In the future, Humans carrying suitable Prehistoric Lineage developed a special profession or path resembling that of a martial monk.

The official name of this profession has not yet been revealed.

Practitioners are capable of manifesting the prehistoric creature associated with their ancestry around their bodies.

This manifestation allows them to obtain physical power and abilities associated with that creature.

Although the profession became associated with Humans, its fundamental ability originated from the extinct Prehistoric Race.

Legacy

Disc became an important example of how Human Lineage Assimilation could preserve abilities while simultaneously erasing the independent identity of another race.

The Prehistoric Race disappeared as a distinct people, yet parts of its ancestry continued through Human descendants.

Centuries later, Humans could inherit and use powers whose true origin belonged to a civilization that no longer existed.

“The Human-looking women and the prehistoric males were separate races.”

Incorrect.

They were females and males of the same species.

“The females were Humans.”

Incorrect.

Their appearance closely resembled Humans, but they belonged to the same Prehistoric Race as the bestial-looking males.

“The prehistoric manifestations were originally a Human ability.”

Incorrect.

The ability originally belonged exclusively to females of the Prehistoric Race.

“Half-Elves were native to Disc.”

Incorrect.

Half-Elves originated on Muxuu and migrated to Disc using a Barrier-Crossing Artifact.

“The Prehistoric Race disappeared without leaving descendants.”

Incorrect.

Its independent race disappeared, but portions of its lineage survived within later Human populations.
