Overview
Demonic Monsters are not a natural species.
They arise when a living creature is corrupted by Monster Energy.
This corruption can alter the creature until it becomes fundamentally different from its original state.
The resulting being is classified as a Demonic Monster.
Monster Energy
Monster Energy is a corruptive supernatural energy associated with the ancient monsters and heralds connected to the Outer Gods.
It is distinct from:
- Mana
- Aura
- Aether
- Mental Power
- Demonic Energy
- Anti-Mana
Monster Energy should therefore not be treated as another Mana element.
Corruption
Monster Energy can invade and corrupt living beings.
During the early stages of corruption, the process may still be reversible.
If the corruption progresses too far, however, the transformation can become irreversible.
Mana and Corruption
Mana can be used to resist and expel Monster Energy before the corruption becomes irreversible.
This means that early intervention can potentially save an affected creature.
Once the corruption reaches an irreversible stage, simply removing the remaining Monster Energy is no longer sufficient to restore the original being.
Origin of Monster Energy
Monster Energy is connected to an ancient threat involving the Outer Gods.
These beings originated outside the normal universe and sent monsters and heralds carrying their corruptive energy into the world.
These creatures represented a threat fundamentally different from normal Mana Beasts or naturally occurring supernatural species.
Outer Gods
The Outer Gods are entities originating beyond the ordinary world.
During an ancient crisis, they sent corruptive monsters and heralds into the world.
Their forces carried Monster Energy capable of spreading corruption.
The Gods eventually responded by sealing many of these dangerous beings rather than allowing them to remain freely active.
Dungeons
The history of Dungeons is closely connected to the ancient Monster Energy crisis.
Powerful corruptive beings were sealed inside structures and spaces designed to contain them.
These prisons could take the form of towers, dimensional spaces, or other isolated supernatural environments.
Over time, these sealed places became known as Dungeons.
Dungeon Purpose
Dungeons originally served as prisons and containment structures for dangerous beings associated with Monster Energy.
Their existence prevented such creatures from freely spreading corruption throughout the world.
However, simply sealing the creatures created another problem: intelligent beings had little reason to willingly enter such dangerous places.
Dungeon Rewards
To encourage mortals to enter Dungeons and confront the threats within, supernatural rewards became associated with them.
One of the most important rewards is the Skill Book.
Skill Books can grant Acquired Abilities.
This transformed Dungeons into locations that offered both extraordinary danger and extraordinary opportunity.
Demonic Monsters and God-Created Monsters
Demonic Monsters and God-Created Monsters are both called Monsters, but their origins are fundamentally different.

Demonic Monsters are not Demons.
Demons are an intelligent race descended from Devils and mortal races.
They possess their own societies, clans, intelligence, and supernatural heritage.
Demonic Monsters, by contrast, are creatures transformed through Monster Energy corruption.
The similarity in terminology does not mean that they share the same origin.
Demonic Monsters and Devils
Demonic Monsters are also distinct from Devils.
Devils originate from another dimension and are associated with Demonic Energy.
Monster Energy and Demonic Energy are separate supernatural forces.
Therefore:
Monster Energy does not come from Devils.

Demonic Monsters remain dangerous creatures and should not be treated as automatically obedient servants of Demons.
Corrupted Animals and Other Creatures
Monster Energy corruption is not restricted to one particular type of creature.
A being affected by sufficient Monster Energy can potentially be changed into a Demonic Monster.
The resulting creature should then be classified according to its corruption rather than simply according to its original species.
Mana Beasts and Corruption
Mana Beasts are naturally developed creatures and should not be confused with Demonic Monsters.
However, the fact that a creature is already a Mana Beast does not make it conceptually identical to a Demonic Monster.
Mana Beast development originates through Mana.
Demonic Monster transformation originates through Monster Energy corruption.
Divine Beasts and Corruption
Divine Beasts are defined by ancient supernatural bloodlines.
Their classification is therefore also independent from the Demonic Monster category.
Bloodline, Mana development, and Monster Energy corruption are separate concepts.
The Ancient Crisis
The appearance of the Outer Gods' monsters and heralds represented one of the great supernatural crises of ancient history.
Monster Energy made these beings especially dangerous because the threat was not limited to direct destruction.
Their corruption could create additional Demonic Monsters and expand the crisis beyond the original invaders.
Containment therefore became an important part of the response to the threat.
Outer God Withdrawal
The Outer Gods themselves later entered the world.
However, their advance did not continue indefinitely.
At some point, another unknown force or being awakened.
The Outer Gods subsequently withdrew.
The exact identity of what caused their retreat remains unknown.
