One of their most feared biological traits is their natural regeneration. Trolls can continuously recover from injuries that would incapacitate many other creatures. As long as an injury is not immediately fatal, their bodies can recover from it in a relatively short period of time.
However, this regeneration has important weaknesses. Fire and acid interfere with their natural healing, making injuries caused by them considerably more dangerous to a Troll.

Trolls possess an exceptionally developed sense of smell. They can use it to track prey and enemies across considerable distances and may even locate targets that cannot be detected through ordinary sight.

By sacrificing part of their own lifespan, a Troll can trigger an extreme regenerative state. In this condition, the body can recover from otherwise catastrophic damage as long as a sufficient portion of the brain remains intact.
This ability does not come without a price. The regeneration is fueled by the Troll's remaining lifespan, meaning that relying on it directly reduces how long the individual can naturally live.
Society
Troll society is patriarchal, with males holding leadership positions within their communities.
Their culture is strongly influenced by their physical nature. Strength, endurance, and the ability to survive harsh conditions are important characteristics among Trolls.
Habitat
Trolls are most commonly found throughout mountain ranges and mountainous regions. Their powerful bodies allow them to travel and survive in rugged terrain that can be difficult for less physically capable races.
Combat
Trolls are extremely dangerous close-range opponents. Their combat effectiveness comes primarily from the combination of overwhelming physical strength and their ability to recover from injuries.
Defeating one through accumulated damage can be extremely difficult, especially if the Troll activates its Racial Ability. Fire and acid are particularly valuable against them because of their ability to interfere with Troll regeneration.
