Osber

The Osber are a powerful race inhabiting the forests and mountainous regions of Halvmen. They are large, physically imposing warriors specialized in close combat, possessing formidable natural weapons in the form of their claws and jaws.

Despite their enormous bodies, the Osber possess an unusual affinity for stealth. Their racial ability allows them to isolate sound within a designated area, making their size far less of a disadvantage when attempting to approach or fight enemies without attracting attention.

Appearance

Male Osber possess an imposing, heavily built body covered in thick fur. Their appearance is strongly bestial, with powerful limbs, large hands, prominent claws, and a massive jaw.

Female Osber have a considerably more humanoid appearance than males, while still retaining visible traits of their race.

Habitat

Osber primarily inhabit forests and mountainous regions. Their physical abilities make them well suited for life in wild and difficult terrain.

Society

Osber communities are predominantly governed by males. Their society places considerable importance on physical capability and combat.

Physical Abilities

Close-Combat Specialists

Osber are highly skilled close-range fighters. Their powerful bodies allow them to rely heavily on their natural strength when fighting, making them particularly dangerous once they close the distance with an opponent.

Claws

Their claws are extraordinarily sharp and durable. A powerful Osber can use them to cut through steel, turning its hands into deadly natural weapons even when fighting without conventional equipment.

Bite

Osber possess extremely powerful jaws and a dangerous bite. Together with their claws, this gives them multiple natural weapons for close-range combat.

Racial Ability

Silence Field

The characteristic Racial Ability of the Osber allows them to create a field that acoustically isolates a chosen area or individual.

Sounds produced within the affected area cannot be heard by those outside the field. This allows an Osber to prevent the sounds of a confrontation from reaching nearby enemies or other potential listeners.

The ability is particularly dangerous when combined with the Osber's physical strength. Despite their considerable size, they can isolate the noise produced during an attack and prevent it from alerting others nearby.

The ability does not inherently increase the Osber's strength or physical speed. Its primary function is the manipulation and isolation of sound.

Combat

Osber favor direct close combat, where their physical strength, claws, jaws, and large bodies can be used to their fullest potential. Their Silence Field gives them an unusual tactical advantage for a race of their size.

An Osber can isolate the sounds of a battle before engaging an enemy, greatly reducing the possibility that the confrontation will alert creatures or opponents outside the affected area.
